About daniela

Tuscany, my favorite place in the World…

Daniela’s Tuscany is not my new project, it is the natural evolution of my previous experiences. As my daughter is moving at a fast pace towards her college life, I am transforming my passion for Italy into a real profession and I devote my time to help people to plan their next visit to Tuscany, designing for them one-of-a-kind experience.

Each person, couple, family, group has different requests and desires so it is my job to carefully select accommodations, activities, restaurants, classes and all it is needed to create the trip that meets their expectations.

Tuscany is my favorite place in the world and my expertise, so I want my customers to experience it in a very authentic way and not follow the usual paths built for most tourists. I want my clients to mix with locals, participate in their daily activities, discover the real art of cooking, visit artists and artisans studios, see how pottery is made, how glass is blown, silver is chiseled and fabrics are woven. I want for returning visitors to explore new areas of Tuscany that some Tuscan people don’t know themselves; places forgotten by modern maps but not by local history and traditions.

Daniela wants her customers to go back home with the feeling that they just made new friends and that their travel was an enriching personal experience.

A Day with Alberto and Marco

A Day with Alberto and Marco

Just as travelers trust me as a Tuscan native to design their custom-made trips in the region, I place my trust in locals to keep me up to date on recent developments and their stories —comic, colorful, sad, controversial—that I might have otherwise missed.

Paolo Fanciulli is not just a man who loves the sea; he’s proud of his Tuscan origins, the land that formed him. He speaks from his heart, with no filters
Marco Tozzi

Marco Tozzi

Equally handsome as Marcello Mastroianni, probably even more so, my brother Marco was suddenly forced to leave his dolce vita behind.

Crostata di Marmellata

Crostata di Marmellata

Crostata is one of those classic desserts that many Italians grow up with. It is a delicious, easy and fast dessert that allows Tuscan cooks to praise their homemade marmellate (jams).
Olive Harvest

Olive Harvest

Tuscan people are rightly very proud of their olive oil, as it is one of the most appreciated in the world. While other Mediterranean regions pick their olives in November, December or even January, the Tuscan harvest begins in October, when the fruit is less ripe and produces less oil making our olive oil rarer than the others.
Tiramisu

Tiramisu

I followed the original recipe:300 gr of savoiardi(ladyfingers) dipped in espresso coffee flavored with a bit of Marsala wine and layered with a whipped mixture of 6 eggs yolks, 500gr of mascarpone cheese and 150gr of sugar.I sprinkled each cup with dark cocoa powder.

We have had the special pleasure of knowing Daniela Tozzi and her family and friends for over twenty years. We first met Daniela when we were buying a vacation home in a tiny borgo near Siena, and we became dear friends, with many visits both in Tuscany and the USA. From the outset, Daniela introduced us to the true Tuscany, beyond the usual tourist destinations.Every experience was an exploration: introductions to local artisans and shopkeepers, opera at the ruins of an ancient monastery, the summertime outdoor cinema in Siena, a victory dinner sponsored by the winning contrada (the Pantera) of a Palio, trips to the charming villages in the hills of Chianti and Crete Senesi, delicious foods and wines...We could go on and on. In each exploration Daniela was so generous with her time, knowledge and passionate enthusiasm in presenting to us the Tuscany she loves so dearly. Lucky will be those who choose to experience Tuscany through the guidance of Daniela Tozzi!

I have known Daniela for 25 years. When you first meet her you see her beauty, but then you feel her wit and intelligence. When you sit at her table in New York, and close your eyes, you taste Italy. When you are at her table in Siena, you feel the traditions of her mother, and grandmother, and great grandmother. Seeing Tuscany thru Daniela’s eyes you will learn the old world and the new, the splendor of ancient cities, and the simple pleasures of walking cobbled streets, passing hundred years old markets with sweet and pungent smells that harken back to a more innocent time. Daniela knows Tuscany like only a native could and her innate knowledge will bring alive the magnificent history of this breathtaking part of the world. You will love her as I do, and learn to love her land as intricately as she does.

Entering Daniela’s world is one of the most magical experiences a person can ever have. She emanates a true Tuscan warmth and creates a wondrous and welcoming atmosphere wherever she goes. Daniela can arrange a bowl of apples so artfully that they resemble a Cezanne tableau. She turns life into art. She does everything with grace and style, with her whole heart. In Tuscany, she graciously took me and my family on phenomenal tours throughout the region - restaurants, villages, a store she owned, a vineyard, and an artists’ studio. They were off the standard tourist grid and brought us deep into the vibrant culture she so loves. It was an amazing and unforgettable trip.

Daniela is a marvel. She’s a consummate host, vivacious and gracious, with an amazing eye and unerring aesthetic sensibility that lend vivid colors to her bustling life. She’s keenly intelligent - intellectually and emotionally - and infuses her entrepreneurship with focused energy and bracing creativity. But more than anything else, she’s a kind and generous soul.

We have had only one opportunity to go to Italy - just once (so far...). But on that trip, we were incredibly lucky that Daniela took us under her wing and showed us her beautiful Tuscany. The ancient hill towns (with glorious wine), the classic art of Siena, the fabulous restaurants, the creative work of the Tuscan artisans, the kind and welcoming people. But the most memorable moment is when she showed us how to make pasta in her own kitchen. The simple process, filled with her caring and a touch of magic, will live in our hearts forever. Thank you, Daniela, for sharing your lovely home and your beautiful country with us. Now we are no longer strangers to Italy!
