We have had the special pleasure of knowing Daniela Tozzi and her family and friends for over twenty years. We first met Daniela when we were buying a vacation home in a tiny borgo near Siena, and we became dear friends, with many visits both in Tuscany and the USA. From the outset, Daniela introduced us to the true Tuscany, beyond the usual tourist destinations.Every experience was an exploration: introductions to local artisans and shopkeepers, opera at the ruins of an ancient monastery, the summertime outdoor cinema in Siena, a victory dinner sponsored by the winning contrada (the Pantera) of a Palio, trips to the charming villages in the hills of Chianti and Crete Senesi, delicious foods and wines...We could go on and on. In each exploration Daniela was so generous with her time, knowledge and passionate enthusiasm in presenting to us the Tuscany she loves so dearly. Daniela knows Tuscany like only a native could and her innate knowledge will bring alive the magnificent history of this breathtaking part of the world. Daniela can arrange a bowl of apples so artfully that they resemble a Cezanne tableau. She turns life into art. She does everything with grace and style, with her whole heart. In Tuscany, she graciously took me and my family on phenomenal tours throughout the region - restaurants, villages, a store she owned, a vineyard, and an artists’ studio. They were off the standard tourist grid and brought us deep into the vibrant culture she so loves. It was an amazing and unforgettable trip.
